In short: v2RayTun is a free client app - on its own it connects you to nothing, it works from a subscription link issued by a service. Setup is four steps and a couple of minutes. The order is the same on any system where the app exists:
- Install the app - from Google Play (Android) or from v2raytun.com (Windows). Only from these places - why, in the next section.
- Copy the subscription link - the bot or your account shows it right after sign-up, with a “copy” button next to it.
- Open v2RayTun → the ”+” button → add from clipboard. The app reads the link and shows the list of servers. A QR code or manual entry work just as well.
- Pick a server and press connect. The system will ask for permission once in a separate window - press “Allow”, the connection will not come up without it.
💡 A tip that saves you an evening: copy the link in full. Subscription links are long, and copying from a messenger easily drops the tail - and a truncated link will not add. This is cause number one of all setup problems.
Where to download it without hitting a fake
Search for “v2raytun download” and you will get a dozen sites with similar names. They look solid: buttons, guides, pricing. The scheme is always the same: the app is not theirs, but the subscription they sell is. You cannot tell by the look - only by the address.

Two details that confuse people: the pricing section on the official site is a wholesale offer for companies costing hundreds of dollars, and an ordinary person has nothing to buy there (the app is free, the servers come from a service). And the advice to install v2RayTun on a computer “through an Android emulator” is out of date - a normal Windows program has been on the site for a long time.
What a “key” means for v2RayTun
A key almost always means the subscription link - a long string starting with vless:// or https:// - or a QR code with the same link inside. The words “key”, “config”, “profile” and “subscription” mean the same thing in guides and chats; the only difference is that a config usually means a single server, while a subscription is a link the app uses to pull the whole list and its updates by itself.
What a key is definitely not: an activation code. You do not need to activate v2RayTun - it is free, but after installation the screen stays empty until you paste a link. The app has no servers of its own.

Android and Android TV. Installs from Google Play, with no restrictions in Russia. On a TV there is one difficulty - typing a long link with the remote: a remote-control app on your phone helps (you type on the phone and it goes to the TV), or an ordinary USB keyboard. Windows. The file from v2raytun.com, then the general order. If your browser has add-ons that also change the connection, turn them off: the browser and the app will pull in different directions.
iPhone, iPad, Mac. Honestly: v2RayTun cannot be installed on Apple devices at all right now - not “unavailable in Russia”, but nowhere: checked on 6 September 2026 across the stores of the USA, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Germany and the UK. For those who installed it earlier the app still works; installing it again is impossible.
⚠️ A trap in the Russian App Store: there is a “V2RayTun - VPN Profiles” app there from a different developer (LUMA Vision s.r.o.) - and it is not a client at all: by its own description the program only stores configuration text. It cannot connect.
The fix for Apple is simple and free - INCY: it is in the Russian App Store, it connects using the same link, and the subscription transfers with one tap - you install the app, press a button in your account with us, and the server list is already there (in v2RayTun you would have to copy the link by hand). You do not pay again: the subscription is not tied to an app.
Linux. There is no version and never was - Linux is missing even from the list of systems on the developer’s site, and the project publishes no files for it. Everything offered as “v2RayTun for Linux” was not made by the project, and there is no way to check what is inside. Where do I get a free key for v2RayTun? “Free keys” from search results and chats are other people’s subscriptions put into public access: hundreds of people share one server, speed drops, then the key dies. Does v2RayTun have an official website? One - v2raytun.com. It takes a minute to verify: the description of the project’s Telegram channel points to exactly that address. Everything similar in search results belongs to other people selling their own subscriptions; the developer never mentions any GitHub page as his own.
Is there a version for Mac or Linux? No. For Apple devices the app has disappeared from the App Store entirely (as of 6 September 2026 - from every store in the world), and for Linux it never existed. On both systems the subscription works through other clients.
