In short: Karing is a free VPN client for almost every device. It gives you no servers of its own — you need a subscription from a VPN service.
In this article:
- what Karing is and what it runs on;
- where to download it without running into fakes;
- how to add a subscription;
- and, honestly — which servers Karing works with and which it does not.
What Karing is
Karing is a VPN client: you paste a service’s subscription link into it, and it connects you to the servers.
What matters about it:
- free and open source, updated often;
- installs on iPhone, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and Apple TV;
- gives you no servers — the subscription comes separately.
Broad cross-platform support is not unique to it: Happ and INCY run on almost the same devices, and Happ also runs on Android TV. On platforms Karing does not win — pick it for other reasons, if you have them.
You can take a subscription from Tainet
But one detail matters right away, and there is a whole section on it below: in Karing our subscription does not work on every server — if you need the full set, other clients suit you better.
Where to download Karing without running into fakes
Karing is free, but download it only from the official sources: third-party “mirrors” often carry stale versions, and builds from other people turn up under the Karing name. The sources to trust:
- iPhone and iPad — the App Store (the Karing app) or TestFlight.
- Android — the project’s GitHub Releases (the apk is there too) or the direct link from the official site, karing.app.
- PC (Windows, macOS, Linux, Apple TV) — the official site karing.app (the downloads section) or GitHub Releases.
What to avoid: third-party “mirror” sites and little-known aggregators that publish the Karing apk several updates behind — the versions there are often stale. Take a fresh build from the official sources above.
The official Karing is only the App Store, GitHub Releases and karing.app.
Would rather not hunt for the right file by hand?
The Tainet account page collects verified Karing download links for every platform — official builds only, no mirrors and no fakes.
The subscription is taken in the same place.
Karing: setup and adding a subscription
Setting Karing up takes a couple of minutes — here are the steps:
- Download and install Karing for your device (links above).
- Take a subscription from a VPN service and get the subscription link. With Tainet it is in your account and in the Telegram bot, and the first 7 days are free with no card.
- Copy the whole subscription link.
- Open Karing → add a new profile/subscription → paste the copied link from the clipboard.
- Pick a server and turn the connection on. On first launch, allow the VPN configuration to be added when the system asks.
A Karing subscription is added by hand — you copy the link and paste it; there is no separate “add to Karing” button on our side. In the step-by-step Happ setup and in the INCY client for iPhone the subscription goes in with a single tap, which is handier if you would rather not deal with copying links.
Which servers Karing works with — honestly
This is the main thing to know before you make Karing your default client. Karing is built on a different engine (sing-box) than Happ and INCY, and because of that only the 🎮 servers work with a Tainet subscription in it.
What that means in practice:
- the 🎮 servers work, and the connection is steady;
- the ⚡, 🛡, ⚪ keys and the 🔀 “Auto” select lines will not appear in Karing — our service does not hand them to that engine.
This is not a fault in Karing and not a mistake of ours — two different engines simply negotiate with servers differently. We say so openly, and the same warning stands in your account.
If you need every server and auto-select, install Happ with the step-by-step setup or INCY for iPhone and Android: the subscription is the very same one, those clients just carry every server without limits, and the subscription goes in with one button. Connect Tainet and pick a client: one subscription works in any of them.
Want the VPN to just work — on every server, with auto-select?
Karing is a handy client for every device, but with our subscription only the 🎮 servers are available in it.
If you need the full set and auto-select, the same Tainet subscription gives them without limits in Happ or INCY, and goes in with one button.
If Karing does not work: what to check
If Karing does not work or will not connect, go down this short list:
- Check the subscription — is it active, and has the term run out? Without a working subscription Karing gives no servers.
- Take the subscription link again — copy it afresh from your account or the bot and add it to Karing once more; the old one may have gone stale.
- Change the server — pick another one from the list; the current one may have been overloaded.
- Update the app — an old Karing build may have fallen out of sync with the server; install a fresh one from an official source.
- Remember the 🎮 — if nothing but the 🎮 servers connects on a Tainet subscription, that is not a fault: the other servers are not supposed to work in Karing (see the section above). If you need them all, install Happ or INCY.
Frequently asked questions
Is Karing paid? No, the app itself is free and open source. Only the VPN service’s subscription is paid — the one whose link you load into it; without it Karing gives no servers. A Tainet subscription can be checked for free: 7 days, no card.
Why are not all Tainet servers in Karing? Karing runs on the sing-box engine, and our service hands that engine only the 🎮 servers. The ⚡, 🛡, ⚪ keys and auto-select will not be there. If you need every server, install Happ or INCY on the same subscription — everything is available there.
Which is better, Karing or Happ? On platforms they are roughly equal — Karing, Happ for every platform and the INCY setup all install on almost any device, TVs included (and Happ covers Android TV as well). The difference is elsewhere: with a Tainet subscription Karing carries only the 🎮 servers, while Happ and INCY carry every server plus auto-select, and the subscription goes in with one button. If you need the full set, Happ or INCY is handier. The subscription is the same for all of them.
Where do I download Karing so as not to run into a fake? Only the App Store, the project’s GitHub Releases and the official site karing.app. Third-party “mirrors” and little-known aggregators often publish stale versions. The simplest way is to take the verified download links for your device in your Tainet account — official builds only, and the subscription is taken there too.
In short: Karing is a free VPN client for every device. Download it only from the App Store, GitHub Releases or karing.app, and take fresh builds only from there.
The subscription comes separately. With a Tainet subscription Karing works on the 🎮 servers, and for the full set of servers and auto-select there is setting up Happ or INCY on iPhone on the very same subscription: connect Tainet, 7 days free, no card. Questions — to support.
